QUESTION: What are my "Weingarten Rights?"
ANSWER: They are a series of rights of union representation that you are afforded TO HEA members - included but not limited to having an Association Representative present if you are being questioned, interviewed, or investigated in a situation that could result in discipline or termination.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want an HEA Representative in a meeting with an administrator, it is YOUR responsibility to ask for one. Your employer is NOT obligated to ask you if you want a rep present.
Ask your building rep if you wish to see the entire page of rights or if you want a a copy of your Weingarten Rights. (We will try to create a link here in the near future to a copy of those rights.)
