On Thursday, Valentine’s Day, I am asking that all educators wear their HEA red shirts or another red article of clothing. Please also wear your MTA “Fund Our Future” stickers. This a very appropriate day to celebrate the HEA’s HEART of HAVERHILL and move forward to embrace the “Fund Our Future” campaign that, if successful, would result in more than 14 million dollars in additional education funding for the city of Haverhill.
Second, on the same day there is a school committee meeting where there will be a special presentation concerning the St James Alternative school. I am asking that, if you are able, please attend this Thursday’s school committee meeting in support of St. James educators. The following insert is a message is from a member who works in that school.
Fellow Haverhill Educators,
As many of us know our jobs can be very difficult at times, but this year for us has been more so than others. Please join St. James on February 14th in supporting a teacher from the T.E.A.C.H program
who had to put in his resignation this month so he could be heard at this meeting not as a disgruntled employee, but as someone who cares for what is best for his students. Believe me when I tell you, his leaving was a very difficult thing to do; we lost a valuable and wonderful educator.
His voice needs to be heard and we are asking you to come show your support.
Thank you,
A St. James Educator
Again thank you so very much to all HEA members for your continued support and dedication to the children of Haverhill.
