Nancy Burke was honored as the ESP of the year by the Massachusetts Teachers Association this weekend at the MTA’s ESP convention.
Members of the Haverhill Education Association also present at the convention were Jen Donahoe, Doris Lavasseur, Deb Tilly and Donna Beeler.
Nancy was surrounded by her family in honor of this event. President Lisa Begley attended the ceremony along with Sarah Emilio and Nicole LaRose-Sanchez, all teachers in Haverhill who understand the importance of the paraprofessionals in the classroom. ESPs are an integral part of the education of our students.
MTA President Barbara Madeloni and Vice President Erik Champy presented Nancy with the honors.
Congratulations Nancy! The outdoor classroom that you started for the Farm to School program took an underused courtyard and not only brought education outside, but also enabled so many people of different abilities to come and work together for the benefit of all. Thank you for writing the grants and making this happen. You named a lot of people in your speech that helped you to accomplish this. You put together team that worked together and wonderful things happened.
Again, congratulations Nancy Burke, 2017 MTA ESP of the Year!
