ESP Bargaining Restart Update #1
Tonight the ESP Bargaining Team resumed contract negotiations which had temporarily been put on hold in order for both the HEA and School Committee to focus on the Return to School MOA.
It was a positive and productive meeting as the School Committee reviewed and discussed previous HEA Proposals. They proposed initial raises of 1.75%, 2% & 2% for the current year, July 2021 and July 2022 respectively. The School Committee also introduced a preview of a future proposal which acknowledges the different categories of ESPS and related responsibilities. Though we still have a ways to go, it was a good start to move forward with Our Living Wage Campaign.
The Bargaining Team will have a working session on Wednesday, October 28th from 4-6 pm in order to prepare for the next bargaining session scheduled for Monday, November 2 from 4:30-6:30 pm.
