Trainings for Early Career Educators 

The MTA has put together a series of trainings to be offered during January and February.  Below are brief descriptions of each, followed by dates, times, and links for registration.

Professional Teacher Status (PTS) 

There’s a lot of information out there about earning PTS, much of it wrong! This training  explains exactly how to earn PTS, and what your many rights are before you earn it.

Salary Scale Analysis and Comparison 

With differing steps and lanes, salary scales can be hard to figure out and compare. This  training shows you how to understand where you’ll earn the most over your career.

Licensure 

Many educators have an understandably difficult time figuring out exactly what they need to do  to get a professional license. This training walks you through the sometimes labyrinthian path. (We do not yet have a date for this training. We will send it out as soon as we have it.) 

Evaluation 

The evaluation procedure is mandated by state law and contract. This training explains exactly  how it works and how you can best satisfy and take advantage of the process.

Credit Counseling and Loan Forgiveness 

Educators often rack up an enormous amount of debt. This training explains what to do and not  do about that debt, while also explaining how to qualify for federal loan forgiveness programs.
