Sisters and Brothers,
Last week, we asked you all for your thoughts about the upcoming transition. 225 of you completed the survey.
Those results are available here for you to review.
In addition, the Association has been seeking evidence from the School Committee to confirm their assertion that the results of air quality testing under hybrid learning conditions indicate the buildings are safe for increased occupancy. The independent analysis of TRC’s report, provided by Sarah Gibson of D.S. O’Connor & Associates, has raised concerns at several buildings with multiple rooms with CO2 levels at or above the 800ppm limit agreed to under our current agreement. Several other schools had at least one room that was tested to be above this limit. We shared this analysis with the School Committee following our most recent bargaining session and await their response to the questions raised.
You can view this analysis along with a memo from D.S. O’Connor & Associates, and the TRC full and summary reports on our website at https://haverhill.massteacher.org/2021/03/29/march2021iaq/
We return to the bargaining table on Wednesday and Thursday at 4:30 pm. Please let me know by 5:00 tomorrow if you’d like to participate at either or both as an observer.
In Solidarity,
Anthony
